Classes
Thanks to our small town location, our classes are generally quite small, allowing ample individual instruction and guidance.
Let us know what classes you would like to have us offer in the fall. We will be having a beginning quilting class, plus others that are requested by the customers.
If there are classes you would like to have offered, please let us know. We would like a minimum of 4 students for a class.
Block of the Month
2010 Block of the Month
American Beauty by Marti Michell
This year the BOM will be American Beauty. It will use Marti’s template set L, which is a 12” block. The finished quilt will be 84” x 104”. It will be available in either black background or white background.
The cost this year per month will be $7.00 for the block and sashing.
The finishing kit for the border will be $65.49.
The Template Set L will be $20.00. The Stars Sashing Set is $18.00. Both of these templates are optional, but they do make cutting much easier.
Star Sashing Set - Add the sparkle of sashing stars to any quilt with sashings and cornerstones. Use this set to cut all the pieces to make 2", 3" and 4" wide finished size sashing stars in three styles. The sashing ruler is 4-1/2" wide by 12-1/2" long -- perfect for 12" blocks, yet easily positioned on the end of any length strip (illustrated below: 2" by 12" finished). Cut matching sashing squares (cornerstones) with the ruler, too! Comes with instructions. The kits will be ready the 1st of January along with the templates.
You Must Pre-Order your 2010 Block of the Month
by April 30, 2010, so we know how much to order.
Events
We were a founding member of the Heart of Iowa Shop Hop in June 2005 and have participated annually since then. Six friendly small town shops welcome you for food, fabric and fun. Quilters who get stamps at all six shops competed for valuable Gift Certificates as well as gift basket drawings at each shop.
The 2011 Heart of Iowa Shop Hop will be held June 20 - 25. Shops will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mon - Friday, until 8 p.m. on Thursday and 9 - 3 on Saturday.
